privacy
No advertising, no ad profiling, no data sold to anyone. What does leave your device is a basic page-view measurement and, once you finish a run, a leaderboard score. Both are described below.

Questions about data protection go to support@vanilla.nl. This policy follows Art. 12 and Art. 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Measurement
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which languages are being used. It runs with IP anonymisation on and with Google Signals and ad personalisation explicitly disabled, so it reports traffic rather than building an advertising profile of you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Browser-level opt-outs are honoured. If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes an opt-out add-on, and any content blocker will stop the script loading.
Stored on your device
A single key in this browser's local storage holds your scores, your initials, your difficulty setting and whether you have muted the sound. That is the whole of it.
The leaderboard
Finishing a run creates an anonymous account and writes one row: your initials, your score, and which mode and difficulty you played. No email, no name, nothing that identifies you.
If you choose to sign in with Google, your display name is stored alongside that row so the board can show it instead of your initials. Signing in links the anonymous account you already had rather than creating a second one, so your existing scores carry over. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by choosing to sign in, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete the row.
Processors
Authentication, the leaderboard database, analytics and hosting are all Google services (Firebase and Google Analytics). Their handling of that data is governed by Firebase's privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export or erase your data, and to object to its processing. Clearing site data for this domain removes everything held locally. To have a leaderboard row deleted, email support@vanilla.nl — the score shown on the board is enough for us to find it.
