the twelve hue families
The colour wheel runs 0° to 360°, and the eye does not divide it evenly. It separates a dozen distinct greens and barely two magentas. These twelve families follow perception rather than arithmetic — each one with its range, its ramps, its hex codes, and the specific way memory fails on it.
